All Sprinkles Are The Same Aren’t They?
No, not only are all sprinkles not the same, all sprinkle shops aren’t the same either. How are we different? Well, pull up a seat.
Customers were having a hard time finding one shop that carried both classic and custom mixed sprinkles in one shop in bulk and retail sizes.
There are a bunch of mix shops, but you run empty on classics. Or, you found a shop that carries classics but not many mixes? Bummer. We know how you feel.
Not only do we stock both for our retail and wholesale customers, we offer mixes that you won’t find anywhere else – in themes that you haven’t seen together yet.
Rainbows and brights aren’t the only parties out there! Our mixes are unique and exclusive to us and hand-mixed, packaged, and shipped all over the world.
Bulk & Wholesale Sprinkle Shop
A large part of this new product line is that our bakery customers were requesting larger quantities of sprinkles especially jimmies that they just couldn’t find.
So, bulk sprinkles and wholesale options and mixes are a large part of our initial offering. And by bulk and wholesale, we mean bulk and wholesale. You can find small 4oz bags for just a batch or two of cupcakes and small cakes all the way to 1lb, 5lb, and 25lb sprinkles on our site.
Our wholesale cases contain enough to cover over 1,000 cupcakes! And as always, free shipping on US orders over $100! Here is a sneak peek at what’s to come!
A new sprinkle mix will be released every day for the next 60 days. Whew! That’s a feat in itself but we have so many ideas that we are just bursting with excitement.
We’ll have plenty of mixes for cartoon parties, superhero parties, weddings, unicorn parties, and more. These are our fancy sprinkles! With mixes of sizes and shapes, this sprinkles line is sure to be your go to for you upcoming parties.
Without further adieu, the very first Sweet Sprinkles release: SWEET TREATS!
It’s only appropriate for the first sprinkle mix to be fun, bright, and iconic to the S&T brand. Sweet Treats has a mix of pinks, limes, teals, and white in all shapes and sizes.
Now you can see why the sprinkles mixes are the crown jewel of our offering. They wrap up all of our favorites in one!
What Are The Different Types of Sprinkles?
Our sprinkle product line is sourced from the most unique companies with flexible offering. Food allergies and other diet restrictions are a real concern of ours.
We are happy to include an offering of Vegan sprinkle options and sprinkle mixes as well as those that are Nut Free, Gluten Free, PHO (Partially Hydrogenated Oil) Free, Trans Fat Free and Dairy Free.
Are All Sprinkles Edible?
All of our sprinkle listings and mixes are made with FDA approved food items and are completely edible. For the safety of our customers and with the knowledge that we are expecting you to eat these sprinkles, we do not carry metallic dragees, deco balls.
Nor do we carry any other non-FDA approved items in our shop or include them in our sprinkle mixes especially if they say For Decoration Only. Not to mention, they are crazy HARD to eat. We couldn’t say that they are not to be eaten, yet sell them with our mixes that we know you will be eating. We’re not sneaky like that.
An option for our customers is to buy them individually and add them afterwards if you absolutely need to add some fancy to your sprinkles. But we’d highly suggest you inform your customers so they can use their judgement and know what’s in their food especially when it is non-edible obviously.
You don’t want any unhappy customers once they find out. We just felt the need to inform you of the reasons we do not include them because it’s something we are very passionate about.
Without further adieu, let’s talk about all the different kinds of sprinkles!
These beauties are really the star of the show for our sprinkle mixes. They are thin and long and have a nice crunch to them.
Our jimmies are crunchier than most out there because of their low fat content. You can see that because most of our jimmies aren’t coated and super smooth. Those tend to be much softer and bleed colors and fade super easily.
Customers will find a large color offering of this kind besides our chunky sugar. Pictured are our Pinata Bash mix and Teal Jimmies. We have a bunch of new pastel ones as well that are the perfect addition to your sweets!
Jimmies are our go to when doing any casual baking. They are long, skinny, crunchy bits of sugary goodness that are our favorite to use in matching customer party themes. And they are THE best when it comes to sprinkles for ice cream.
There’s something about that perfect crunch on top of the creamy, smooth ice cream in your bowl, no?
These tiny little sugar balls sure pack a punch! At only a few mm in size, they are big in color and are a great add of dimension to this line of products.
These are also known as hundreds and thousands in other areas of the world. No matter how you pronounce them or what you call them, you’ll love them when you get some!
These are also a very popular one for ice cream and sugar cookies. Lots of our cookiers buy these in bulk. They are tiny in size but have a perfect crunch when you bite them. You’ve probably seen these on donuts in the donut shop for sure.
Sugar beads, sugar pearls, candy beads, candy pearls are all names for these bites of candy sugar beads. They are about 7mm in size and are the consistency of a mini jawbreaker candy.
Sweet to the taste and beautiful in color, they might just be our favorite component of our mixes. These are sure to stand out in the crowd.
Cupcake toppers are our favorite use for these. While they are sweet and fun to snack on, we love topping our swirl frosting with one of these to add the perfect touch, almost like a gumball!
Sequins, Quins, Sugar Shapes, whatever you call them, these light crunchy sprinkles are so fun to add into mixes. They are not nearly as dense as the sugar sprinkles or sugar pearls but they are so pretty.
They are a beautiful, unique component to sprinkle mixes when we add them in. Pictured are our White Heart Quins.
These lightweight, almost wafer like sugar shapes are wildly popular for table confetti too.
These sparkling, chunky, large grain sanding sugar crystals sprinkles are so incredibly beautiful in person! They are shiny and so noticeable in the mixes.
We offer over 20 different colors ranging from pastels to dark black. Sugar only mixes also make the prettiest colors. Who needs depth when you have these gorgeous colors to mix in?!
Our thick, crunchy, candy sprinkles are one of the main sellers on our site because, hello, look at these shapes!
We have donuts, and mermaid tails, and cactus ones. Seriously, you will fall in love with these delicious sprinkles. Our unicorn horns are the perfect topper for those unicorn cupcakes! And those bows, y’all. They are perfect for Minnie Mouse cupcakes aren’t they?
You won’t have a shortage of ideas once you see this new sprinkle line. These are not nearly as hard as dragees or even sugar pearls. They are very similar to Runts candy that you find in the candy vending machines sometimes.
Remember that crunch you get from your favorite breakfast cereal in the mornings? Yeah, you know the one. Now think about that with a sweet, candy coating for baking goods! These crunch sprinkles are our newest favorite and we offer them in single, solid colors now too!
Our latest line includes jimmies natural colored and flavored using veggies! You read that right, no more artificial colors or flavors, these gorgeous shades are perfect for those looking for a much healthier option. Win win!
Now that you have a good basis of our sugar crystals, other classic sugar sprinkle kinds, and what to expect from future sprinkle mixes, we’ll be posting new releases right here or you can jump right to our new Sweet Sprinkles website page or blog category!
Sprinkles For Baking – Which Kinds Are Best?
While you can technically bake with any, some are better at it than others. Jimmies are pretty much the champion when it comes to baking and decorating.
They are long so they are more visible when baking like you see on our Funfetti cupcakes below. As you can see, the colors stay super bright even after baking.
Nonpareils can be used and are super popular for baking but the sprinkles are so tiny they kind of get lost in the batter and kind of muddy it up.
It’s important that you mix those in at the last minute before baking otherwise they can bleed but this is the case with any coloring using for food use. Moisture is the enemy.
Our mixes are our favorite to bake with especially in our chocolate chip cookie recipe or cake mix recipe like above! You’ll see no bleeding or fading at all after baking.
This will depend on the length of time you bake in the oven of course. The depth of sizes and colors always get us. Tell us, what are your favorite types to bake with?
Best Way To Store Sprinkles
This is one of the most important topics on the whole subject. Sprinkles are very finicky and are not friends with light and moisture. In super high humidity, sprinkle colors will run/bleed and light will absolutely fade the colors, especially purples due to the color make up.
We find this is way worse with high fat content sprinkles which are typically the softer sprinkles. Our sprinkles are crunchy and tend to take much longer to fade if at all. We have steered clear of those in our shop.
To eliminate both issues, store sprinkles in a dry, cool place out of the way of direct sunlight or exposed fluorescent light. If you will be storing your sprinkles in clear containers for longer periods of time, you may want to keep that point in mind.
How Long Do Sprinkles Last?
Our sprinkles are good for approximately a year to 18 months after purchase but these two conditions above cause them to ruin long before their shelf life! Nobody wants that.
We’d love to hear any other questions you have! We love sprinkles if you can’t tell!
